Sunaayy Programs

Education for All

Sunaayy is committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to meaningful learning opportunities that build strong foundations for lifelong learning.

Bridging Education Gaps: We focus on foundational literacy and numeracy through engaging, activity-based learning that helps children develop essential skills with confidence.

Creative and Experiential Learning: Art, storytelling, songs, rhymes, dance and games make learning joyful and relatable, while helping children understand and apply concepts in everyday life.

Learning through Culture: Festivals and cultural activities are woven into the learning process, helping children explore cultural values, appreciate diversity, foster inclusion and strengthen community connections.

Digital Learning: We use digital technologies and online learning resources to complement classroom-based education, expand access to quality learning materials and make learning more interactive and engaging.

Climate Change Awareness: We introduce sustainable development concepts and climate change awareness within our curriculum and content, helping children understand their role in protecting the environment. All our activities focus on using climate-friendly materials, and we encourage animal-friendly behaviours as part of our approach to learning, nurturing empathy and responsibility towards all living beings.

Women Empowerment

We believe empowered women empower communities. At Sunaayy, we build the skills, confidence and leadership of grassroots women, enabling them to become educators, community leaders and agents of change.

Teacher Training & Capacity Building: Women teachers receive regular training and mentoring from Sunaayy, TIFO and other experts, covering:

Leadership & Communication: Leadership development, confidence building, spoken English and effective communication.

Teaching & Classroom Management: Effective, child-centred teaching methods, child care and management of rural and urban learning spaces.

Digital & Financial Literacy: Digital tools, digital safety, financial literacy and digital-financial inclusion.

Centre Management: Documentation, record keeping, reporting and basic administrative skills.

Values & Well-being: Value-based teaching, empathy, inclusion and practices such as yoga for holistic well-being.

Community Leadership: We encourage women to take active roles in their communities, strengthening their voice, self-reliance and capacity to lead change.

Nourishment & Well-being

Meals for Learning: In partnership with Food for the Hungry and other donors, we ensure daily nourishment to support children’s health and focus.

Health and Hygiene Awareness: We educate children and families on personal hygiene, sanitation, and preventive healthcare.

Yoga for Mind and Body: We conduct regular sessions for children by trained teachers to enhance mental well-being and concentration.

Drug awareness: In partnership with experts, we conduct awareness sessions to educate children—especially those at risk—about the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of making healthy choices.

Sustainability & Skill Development

Our programs aim to empower women and children through practical skills rooted in sustainability, enabling them to become self-reliant while playing a vital role in environmental protection.

Environmental Awareness & Water Conservation: Interactive sessions are conducted regularly to educate children about sustainable practices, including water conservation, waste segregation, tree plantation and mindful consumption.

Coaster Art Initiative: This initiative blends creativity with eco-consciousness. Using recycled newspapers and papier-mâché techniques, teachers craft beautiful coasters featuring traditional Alpana designs—celebrating heritage while promoting reuse.

Block printing with natural dyes: Our teachers are trained in eco-friendly block printing methods, creating motifs on dupattas and tablecloths using natural dyes. This not only sustains traditional art forms but also introduces green enterprise ideas.

Leaf plate and bowls: Children are introduced to age-old sustainable practices by learning how to make plates and bowls from dried leaves—encouraging a return to earth-friendly living.
